Aamir Khan Set to Return to Film Industry After a Brief Hiatus

February 6, 2024: After taking a short break from films, Aamir Khan is set to make a comeback to the movie industry, revealing that the hiatus allowed him to reconnect with his family.

The actor-filmmaker, who produced Kiran Rao’s “Laapataa Ladies,” shared that the time away provided an opportunity to strengthen familial ties and pursue interests such as learning Hindustani classical music.

“I had taken a short break because I wanted to spend time with my family. I was busy with my work for so many years… I spent a lot of time with my family and tried to build a strong bond with them,” Aamir Khan stated during his appearance on News18 India Chaupal.

Expressing his readiness to dive back into work, Aamir disclosed that he commenced shooting for his next film on February 1, following a break prompted by the lukewarm response to “Laal Singh Chadha” in 2022. When asked about his openness to romantic roles, Aamir expressed willingness to explore the genre provided it aligns with age-appropriate narratives.

“Romance is a little uncommon in this age but if they are age appropriate, why not? I would like to do all kinds of genres. But I can’t become an 18-year-old, I will not do that,” he emphasized. Praising Kiran Rao’s upcoming directorial venture, Aamir commended her work and the rural backdrop of “Laapataa Ladies,” revealing that he had initially auditioned for a role but opted to cast Ravi Kishan in the cop role through mutual agreement.”
