AirAsia CEO Gets Massage During Virtual Meeting, Faces Backlash on Social Media

Malaysian airline AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandes recently caused a stir on social media by sharing a picture of himself shirtless and receiving a massage while attending a virtual meeting. The post received mixed reactions from the social media internet users.

In a recent post on LinkedIn, AirAsia CEO Fernandes expressed his appreciation for the culture in Indonesia and AirAsia, where one can have a massage and attend a management meeting at the same time.

However, this post, shared by Fernandes on October 16, received criticism from netizens who found the act disturbing.

“Was a stressful week and Veranita Yosephine suggested a massage. Got to love Indonesia and AirAsia culture that I can have a massage and do a management meeting.

“We are making big progress and I have now finalised Capital A structure. Exciting days ahead. Proud of what we have built and never have lost sight of the finish,” Fernandes said in the post.

The post has received a total of 703 responses, including 96 comments and 42 reposts. Many people expressed their disapproval of the post in the comments section, stating that it was inappropriate and offensive.

One user suggested that it would have been more appropriate to conclude the meeting before engaging in a massage. They believed that such behavior is not suitable in a civilized society.
