Arogya World Announces India’s 2023 Healthy Workplaces

Bengaluru, Dec 8: Arogya World, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing diabetes and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) through health education and lifestyle changes, has announced the recipients of the 2023 Healthy Workplaces awards in India.

A total of 36 companies were recognized for their efforts in promoting physical health, mental well-being, and NCD prevention in the workplace.

The recognized companies include Bridge Health Medical & Digital Solutions Private Limited, Daimler Truck Innovation Center India, GAR Corporate Services Private Limited, Honeywell International India Private Limited, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Otis Global Services Center Private Limited, Otis India, Petronet LNG Limited, Kochi Terminal, REA India Private Limited, ACG World (6 Entities), BetterPlace Safety Solutions Private Limited, Carelon Global Solutions India LLP, Conrad Bengaluru, DHL Express India Private Limited, EID Parry (India) Limited, MSN Laboratories Private Limited, Nayara Energy Limited, Poonawalla Fincorp Limited, Prestige Estates Projects Limited, Syenergy Environics Limited, Tata Motors Insurance Broking and Advisory Services Limited, VA Tech Wabag Limited, Ageas Federal Life Insurance Company Limited, Breakthrough Trust, Infallible Travel Concepts Private Limited, Media Mantra, National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited, NCDEX eMarkets Limited, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited.

In addition, several Healthy Workplaces renewed their commitment to employee health this year, including ABB India Limited, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, Amara Raja Batteries Limited (Chittoor), Bosch Limited, Wipro Limited, Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India, and Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation.

Arogya World also recognized seven exemplary Healthy Workplaces that achieved the platinum level: Bayer, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, HSBC Electronic Data Processing Private Limited, Jhajjar Power Limited, Nexus Select Trust, Optum Global Solutions India Private Limited, and Tata Motors Limited.

These companies have demonstrated significant improvements in health metrics over time and are considered ambassadors of workplace health.

Srabani Banerjee, Head of the Healthy Workplace Program at Arogya World, stated that the organization is committed to promoting holistic employee well-being. Arogya World empowers organizations to prioritize health through data-driven practices and educates teams on NCD prevention.

Banerjee commended the new generation of leaders who prioritize employee health, integrate it into business strategies, and promote sustainable and socially responsible practices.

The Healthy Workplace program accreditation involves a rigorous assessment conducted by industry health experts. The assessors evaluate whether the company’s programs and interventions meet Arogya World’s Healthy Workplace criteria, which are aligned with WHO guidelines on workplace health.

The criteria cover leadership engagement, physical health (such as healthy eating, tobacco cessation, and physical activity), and mental health, which was introduced in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Arogya World believes that workplaces play a crucial role in addressing NCDs.

The Healthy Workplace Conference organized by Arogya World has been instrumental in advancing the dialogue on workplace health in India and sustaining momentum in this area.
