Gangster Ballu Pehalwan Fatally Shot in Faridabad, 20 Bullets Fired

New Delhi, Jan 1, 2024: Ballu Pehalwan, a gangster based in Delhi, was shot and killed in Faridabad by armed individuals in a car. They fired 20 bullets at him after intercepting his motorbike while he was on his way back from the gym. The police suspect that this incident is related to a gang war.

Witnesses reported that the attackers continuously fired at the gangster for approximately two minutes.

The attack occurred around 6:30 pm on Tuesday in Faridabad Sector 11. Ballu Pehalwan was residing near YMCA University in the area with a relative. He had multiple cases, including murder charges, registered against him.

According to the police, Ballu Pehalwan, also known as Surajbhan, was a 42-year-old resident of Dinpur near Najafgarh in Delhi. He frequently visited the gym and was returning from there on his motorbike when the attack took place. The assailants fled the scene after the incident.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Police Commissioner Rakesh Arya, DCP Rajesh Duggal, ACP (crime) Aman Yadav, and other officers arrived at the location. The police collected CCTV footage and other evidence from the scene.

A senior officer stated that this murder is part of an ongoing gang war between two groups.

Ballu Pehalwan was the head of an NGO called Bharat Bhavishya Foundation and had also contested elections from the Matia Mahal seat assembly constituency in Delhi. He had been labeled a ‘bad character’ by the Delhi Police.

An FIR has been registered at Sector 8 police station under sections 302 (murder), 34 (common intention) of the IPC, and the Arms Act on Wednesday, following a complaint by the gangster’s wife, Rajjo Devi.

Sube Singh, spokesperson of Faridabad Police, stated that the investigation is currently underway, and the accused individuals will be apprehended soon.
