Google Launches Gemini Advanced: AI Subscription Tier Live

February 8, 2024- Google has officially launched Gemini Advanced, the subscription tier of its groundbreaking AI model. Following numerous speculations and confirmations from Google CEO Sundar Pichai during the company’s quarterly earnings call, the much-awaited arrival of Gemini Advanced has finally become a reality. Alongside this launch, Google has also rebranded its free generative AI chatbot, Bard, to simply “Gemini.”

During the announcement made in the company’s newsroom, Sundar Pichai emphasized the capabilities of Gemini Advanced, stating, “The version with Ultra will be called Gemini Advanced, a new experience far more capable at reasoning, following instructions, coding, and creative collaboration.” He further disclosed that the subscription service will be bundled with Google One, hence offering users additional benefits such as 2TB of cloud storage space.

Highlighting the features of Gemini Ultra, a separate post emphasized its ability to create step-by-step instructions, assist in academic tutoring, facilitate advanced coding tasks, and aid digital creators in content generation and trend analysis. The subscription service aims to cater to a diverse range of users, from students seeking academic support to professionals looking to enhance their coding skills or content creators seeking inspiration and engagement strategies.

As part of a promotional offer, Gemini Advanced is currently available free of charge for two months. Following the promotional period, users can subscribe to the service for a monthly fee of Rs. 1,950. The AI model will be accessible through the Google website, Android app, and iOS users can utilize it via the Google app.

In tandem with the launch of Gemini Advanced, Google has rebranded its free AI chatbot Bard to Gemini, symbolizing the advanced technology underpinning the platform. Sundar Pichai remarked, “Bard has been the best way for people to directly experience our most capable models. To reflect the advanced tech at its core, Bard will now simply be called Gemini.”

With Gemini Advanced now live, Google continues to push the boundaries of AI innovation, offering users an enhanced and comprehensive AI-powered experience.
