Himachal’s High Altitude Regions Witness Moderate Snowfall

Shimla, Dec 1: Most parts of Himachal Pradesh on Friday experienced cold and snowy weather conditions, particularly the high-altitude tribal areas and higher hills which saw moderate snowfall.

Also, widespread rains and hailstorm occurred in various places, including the state capital Shimla.

Some regions, such as Sissu, Gondla, Koksar, and Keylong received fresh snowfall ranging from 8 cm to 20 cm, while Rohtang, Kunzum, Pin-Parvati passes, Dhauladhar and Churdhar mountain ranges, and higher hills of Manali, Chamba, Shimla, Sirmaur, and Mandi experienced snowfall ranging from 20 cm to 30 cm.

The snowfall and slippery road conditions disrupted vehicular traffic and only 4×4 vehicles were allowed to go to Atul Tunnel Rohtang.
