Navratri 2023 Day 6: The sixth day of Navratri will be celebrated on Friday, October 20th 2023. On this day, devotees worship Maa Katyayani, the sixth form of Goddess Durga.

Maa Katyayani, the sixth form of Goddess Durga, is the warrior goddess who fought against demons and evil forces. She is also known as Mahishasurmardini as she killed the demon king Mahishasura. With her fierce demeanor and bravery, she symbolizes the power and strength of a woman.

Maa Katyayani is depicted as riding a majestic lion, and holding various weapons in her hands, ready to protect her devotees from harm. She is one of the fiercest incarnations of Goddess Durga.

Significance of Maa Katyayani Puja

Maa Katyayani is an embodiment of courage and determination. Her worship during Navratri is believed to bestow devotees with strength, courage, and the ability to overcome obstacles. By seeking her blessings, one can find the inner strength to face challenges and emerge victorious in their endeavors.

According to Hindu mythology, she is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati, born to sage Katyayan. The story goes that when the demon Mahishasura was wreaking havoc, the gods sought the help of Goddess Parvati. Then, Goddess Parvati took the form of Maa Katyayani to defeat the demon and restore peace and harmony.

This year, the sixth day of Navratri falls on Friday, October 20th.

According to Drik Panchang, the Brahma Muhurta on this day starts at 04:44 AM and ends at 05:34 AM.

The Abhijit Muhurat is from 11:43 AM to 12:28 PM, and the Vijaya Muhurta is from 01:59 PM to 02:45 PM.

The Ravi Yoga will be observed from 06:25 AM to 08:41 PM.
