Team India to Stay in Dharamshala for Two Days After NZ Game

Dharamshala, Oct 23. After their four-wicket victory against New Zealand, Team India will now face England on Sunday. There is a seven-day gap between the two matches, so the team has decided to stay in Dharamshala for the next two days before traveling to Lucknow for their next game.

Previously, the team would leave for the next venue immediately after the game, but this routine is changing.

The team will not travel today and will instead remain in Dharamshala for two days. They will rest before beginning preparations for the next game in Lucknow, according to a BCCI official.

On October 22, Team India defeated New Zealand at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala, marking their first victory against them in an ICC tournament in 20 years.

Virat Kohli played a knock of 95 runs, contributing to India’s fifth consecutive win in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

New Zealand batted first and scored 273 runs. Daryl Mitchell’s century and Rachin Ravindra’s fifty put the Kiwis in a good position, but Shami’s five-wicket haul limited them to under 300.

Rohit and Gill provided a strong start for India, but a minor collapse in the middle caused some concern. However, Virat Kohli held one end and led India to a significant victory.

“It’s a good start to the tournament. The job is only half done. It’s important to stay balanced and not think too far ahead. We need to stay focused on the present. Shami performed exceptionally well and took advantage of the opportunity. He has experience in these conditions and is a top-class bowler,” Rohit said after the win.
