Varanasi’s Najma Parveen Becomes First Indian Muslim to Complete a PhD on PM Modi

Najma Parveen enrolled in a PhD program in 2014 with the intention of conducting research on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, she faced discouragement from many individuals due to her Muslim background. These people expressed their disapproval of Najma’s choice to study Modi.

Varanasi, Nov 07: Najma Parveen, a research student at the Department of Political Science, Banaras Hindu University, has successfully completed her PhD on Narendra Modi. She is the first Muslim woman in India to conduct research on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The title of her research is “Narendra Modi’s Political Leadership: An Analytical Study (with Special Reference to the 2014 Lok Sabha General Elections)”.Najma’s research portrays Modi as a political superstar.

Despite facing discouragement from many due to her Muslim background, Najma Parveen enrolled in 2014 to conduct research on Narendra Modi. Some people did not support her choice to study Prime Minister Narendra Modi because of her Muslim background. Nevertheless, Najma persevered and completed her PhD in eight years under the guidance of Professor Sanjay Srivastava from the Department of Political Science at BHU. Professor Mehtab Alam Rizvi from the Department of Political Science at Jamia Millia Islamia served as the external examiner for her thesis.

The research on Prime Minister Narendra Modi is divided into five chapters. To complete her study, Najma referred to 20 Hindi books and 79 English books. Additionally, she gathered information from 37 newspapers and magazines, as well as conducted interviews with Narendra Modi’s brother, Pankaj Modi, and RSS leader Indresh Kumar.

This research prominently includes the Triple Talaq movement of Muslim women, the act of Muslim women sending Rakhi to Narendra Modi, and the support of the Bharatiya Awam Party for Modi. It also discusses the dissatisfaction of the people of Kashi towards Murli Manohar Joshi and the political strategy behind Modi contesting elections from Banaras.
